stunsworth Posted March 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone tried the Fuji M lens adaptor? If so what did you think of the results? The lens I'd be most interested in using is the 24mm Elmarit, but I'm a bit concerned about loss of corner definition. I feel I'm going to buy the adaptor, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who's used it. I guess the other question is about ease of focussing. I assume that would involve using the EVF and focus peaking. Is that practical? Thanks in advance.
Advertisement Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Hi stunsworth, Take a look here Fuji X Pro 1 with M adaptor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gyoung Posted March 11, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2014 Iwas trying the Fujis out at the Photography show last week, I liked the split image best for focusing rather than the peaking. Gerry Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

integrale Posted March 12, 2014 Share #7 Posted March 12, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I liked* it very much (X-E1 with Elmarit 24/2.8 ASPH): DSCF6213-redux by famsor, on Flickr DSCF6242-redux by famsor, on Flickr *I sold the X-E1 and lenses and bought an X100s; personally, I think the 24/2.8ASPH is better than the Fuji lens on X100s. stunsworth Posted March 12, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted March 12, 2014 I liked* it very much (X-E1 with Elmarit 24/2.8 ASPH) Thanks, that and the 50mm Summicron were the lenses I was thinking of using it with.
gyoung Posted March 12, 2014 Share #9 Posted March 12, 2014 Do you have any experience of the 21/2.8 asph or the 15 voigtlander by chance? Gerry Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
stunsworth Posted March 12, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted March 12, 2014 Do you have any experience of the 21/2.8 asph or the 15 voigtlander by chance? None of the 21mm, but I have a somewhat battered screw mount 15mm Voigtlander that I've had for years. Opps, just realised that you were probably referring to the post I was responding to earlier. gyoung Posted March 12, 2014 Share #11 Posted March 12, 2014 Don't mind whose experience it is! So much conflicting stuff on the net, often opinion rather than experience! Gerry Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
analog-photo Posted March 22, 2014 Share #12 Posted March 22, 2014 Do you have any experience of the 21/2.8 asph or the 15 voigtlander by chance? Gerry I have used the Voigtlander 15 asph, 2:nd version on a X-Pro 1 with the Leica M adaptor. Due to the crop from the smaller sensor I didn't have to bother about color shift, just some hardly noticeable vignette. One example here Danmark, processed in Lightroom 5 and no compensation for vignette. After nine months with the Fuji I gave up for two reasons; first - very hard to get a development profile in Lightroom that resulted in acceptable images (there are several forums with discussions on this topic), second - I never got used to the hybrid finder. Since X-Pro is not a rangefinder it does not have split image focussing. You have to use the hybrid finder, without focus peaking it is almost impossible to nail the focus, with focus peaking it is not so precise. The X-Pro 1 indicates focus over a rather wide area. After the X-Pro 1 I bought a Sony RX-1, fantastic camera which produce excellent results. And now, since a couple of weeks I have a M (240) and can use all my lenses again. The Voigtlander on the M works, but you have to correct the images in CornerFix. Lars Ekberg
