Guest redge Posted March 7, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted March 7, 2014 There's a current discussion about this: Who Still Uses a Handheld Meter
swamiji Posted March 7, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted March 7, 2014 I still use a handheld light meter. I have several, but the most used are my Weston Euro, and my Sekonic 758DR. The Sekonic has a PocketWizard controller, and thus makes easy work of studio flash.
vikasmg Posted March 7, 2014 Share #4 Â Posted March 7, 2014 I use one occasionally, but I now use an app on my iPhone rather than carry another device. MyLightmeter (free) or MyLightmeter Pro. I paid six or seven dollars for the Pro version but the free one is adequate as well.
Scott997 Posted March 17, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted March 17, 2014 I use one all the time. Takes the guess work out of difficult shooting scenarios. For a lot of M stuff I use the Gossen. When I'm using strobes or flash I have the sekonic touch screen as was recommended above. Its a great thing to have in your camera bag.
