Leica M Low Light performance

Good article and I agree that the M240 high ISO capability is much improved on the M9. I would never have achieved this image otherwise! Taken just two weeks after making the change from M9 and I was quite amazed at the smoothness and 'cleanliness' of the colours at ISO 6400. Exposure details included in the image post.

I've not had a M9 to compare with my I'm really happy with how the 240 handles in low light. The first three shots from on here - Andrew Chang Photography - Fashion and Portraiture were shot with the M, and I was really happy with the overall rendering. I'm still very much learning the ropes but I'm getting to the stage where I can confidentially use the M as my primary camera on shoots.

Out of interest I went back and looked at some of the 6400 images I did with the prototype M-240. With the latest version of LR and the final Adobe profile they're remarkably good - and banding's not an issue. A good reminder to me that I can go much higher in terms of ISO than I usually do.
