rob_x2004 Posted April 26, 2007 Share #21 Posted April 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought a little wide screen telly thingy with battery and car charger and it had a protective plastic cover thingy stuck across the screen. Anyway I stuck the sheet of plastic stuff on the fridge door to cut up for LCD screen protectors ... but it is still there on the fridge ... So ...I still have to cut it up to put it on LCD things ... one day.

wattsy Posted April 26, 2007 Share #22 Posted April 26, 2007 Just bought a new laptop (Sony SZ, sorry Apple, couldn't do it) and there were 5 stickers either side of the track-pad. Maybe there's a lesson there somewhere? Whatever you think of Apple, they do at least have the good taste not to foul their products with labels. (In the old days, Apple used to supply some stickers in the box - I've no idea what you were meant to do with them?)

george + Posted April 26, 2007 Share #24 Posted April 26, 2007 If you want to be philosophical - or is it too early in the morning - those, and like, stickers are a sign of our times. Constantly invading; constantly warning where no warning is needed, constantly advising where no advice is needed. I remove all those that I can. But I could not remove the one on my car's sun visor. The ugly thing just sits there and glares in my face all the time I drive. Of course there are a lot of people involved in dreaming up this nonsense and surrounding regulations, designing these irritating little things, supplying them and then enforcing whatever has been decreed ebforceable relating to them. Arggh! Enough to drive one to be an anarchist. You know, the nonviolent guys who just want to be left alone.
larry Posted April 26, 2007 Share #25 Posted April 26, 2007 George, There could be a business opportunity producing blank stickers (or ones with optional messages, textures, purposes, etc.) to cover the annoying ones. ;-) Larry
george + Posted April 26, 2007 Share #26 Posted April 26, 2007 Oh Larry, that seems to be what is going on all the time. Sticker on sticker on sticker. Where none were needed to start with. A sticky world indeed. Do I begin to sound as old as I am?

I used an eraser to get rid of it(residue) & the chrome black turned into grey !!! Domestic white spirit or cigarette lighter fuel even better, removes the sticky with no effort at all. May even remove eraser rubber. One of those brown translucent artist's erasers is the best way to clean grubby silver chrome. I have used these on Leicas and Minoxes for years.
