IWC Doppel Posted February 18, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 18, 2014 I had the 35 f1.4 ASPH pre FLE a d it does focus shift, but less so than the 50 f1.4 Summilux pre ASPH for example, its a wonderful lens and I suspect would be a beautiful match for the MM. The way I deal with focus shift is to set up for correct at wide open and live with small shift thereafter. Flat charts can be very cruel the real world is much more forgiving
wolfloid Posted February 18, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted February 18, 2014 I mean the pre FLE.
Londonmember Posted February 18, 2014 Share #5 Posted February 18, 2014 I have the pre FLE as I MUCH prefer the smoother bokeh than the FLE version. I have never noticed focus shift in real life... Many of the shots on my website are taken with it or the 24/1.4 (its pretty obvious which). I think because I tend to use it either wide open or stopped down to 5.6 its less of an issue.
