MarkP Posted February 16, 2014 Share #21 Posted February 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have five batteries between the M9 (mid 2010) and Monochrom (late 2012) . Overall they are just fine. I keep screen brightness down to save power and I only use the screen for adjusting camera settings or for a quick look at the histogram The only one starting to run out of grunt is the first spare I bought with the M9 in 2010 which was packaged as an M8 battery. It was probably already old when I bought it and now it's probably just past it's use by date.

algrove Posted February 25, 2014 Share #22 Posted February 25, 2014 I noticed the most recent Leica MM batteries show 1860 instead of 1800mAh from the M9 days.
Photoskeptic Posted February 25, 2014 Share #23 Posted February 25, 2014 Interesting. I wonder if the part # changed also?
Phil75 Posted February 25, 2014 Share #24 Posted February 25, 2014 I have used with previous cameras always OEM batteries as well as quite a few from Hähnel or Ansmann, always w/o any issues. With an expensive Leica I wouldn't risk a no name spare battery, although the risk may be fractional. If you don't want to spend on an OEM battery I would recommend those from a well-known third party supplier disposing of a decent quality control.
