colonel Posted January 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) No particular reason for this post () except this lens was cheap as chips (£249 !!!) and gives beautiful results on my A7 (and R5 BTW). The main disadvantage is the 1.5 meters minimimum focus distance but otherwise its beautiful. Based on these results I might be partial to a 180mm APO as well .... Advertisement Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Hi colonel, Take a look here R 135mm Elmarit II. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted January 24, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2014 Off topic I'm afraid, but you have been away for some time. Did you ever catch up with the pm I sent you on 20 Nov 2013?
fernando_b Posted January 27, 2014 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2014 I don't know the reason why this lens is so undervaleud: may be the soft-focus at 2.8, may be the heavy weight, may be the dated optical design. It is very sharp from f/4, and has a pleasing (to me) angle of view! Fernando.

For close ups it works well with an Elpro 3 ]
Freddddan Posted February 27, 2014 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2014 I really liked it while i had my R5! Chunky nice feel to it, nice retractable hood and good results. But watch out, i would estimate that somewhere between 20and 40 percent of all offered 135 Elmarits have a separation. In most cases only on the edges, but sometimes more. k_g_wolf ✝ Posted February 28, 2014 Share #6 Posted February 28, 2014 Really? Never heard of this in connection with the 135mm- R- lens. I saw it with a 135mm- ELMARIT- M- lens a while ago, could it be, that things got mixed up here ?? Best GEORG
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted February 28, 2014 Share #7 Posted February 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is a recent shot with the 135mm ELMARIT- M, no separation, although pretty old.
