papimuzo Posted February 4, 2014 Share #21 Posted February 4, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the AC-MAXX protection on my XVario. You can get it on e-bay, make a search with Ac-maxx for X Vario. Good fit, works well.

Runningmatt Posted February 8, 2014 Share #23 Posted February 8, 2014 I've owned my X Vario for 6 months and, as yet, there is not a single mark on the screen. Lucky me! I have been looking for a protector for peace of mind, though. Yesterday I received the Crocfol Premium screen-protector, and first impressions are very good: perfect fit (X Vario specific version); almost invisible; virtually no loss of brightness or contrast; excellent performance in sunlight. Time will tell how it stands up to scrapes and knocks, and whether it remains firmly adhered to the screen. It is made in Germany too!
MarkP Posted February 8, 2014 Share #24 Posted February 8, 2014 I would strongly support the above post regarding the Giottos screen protectors - easy to fit, no damage to the camera's screen on removal. Mine has been broken fitted to the M9 with no damage to the underlying screen. They also improve screen contrast, especially in bright ambient light. I have them on my M9, Monochrom and M240. I don't care about what they say about Sapphire or Gorilla glass scratch resistance - these protectors are cheap and very effective. If unsure of the right size you could email Giottos with the X Vario screen dimensions. That is what I did to find the best screen size for the M240 (as they don't make screens specifically for Leicas) and the fit of the suggested screen was perfect.
