Twilight Posted December 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I would like to use an iPAD for backup/reviewing/selecting/rating RAW files from my Leica M9 and SonYAlpha7 but it should be possible to import them (preferably with the first ratings/editing) into Lightroom and/or C1pro. Is there a good app that deals with the RAW files of the M9 and alpha 7 and allows this kind of workflow? Ideally a workflow like this is what I am looking for: On holiday, shoot DNG on the M9 duringh the day, import them in the evening to the app on the iPAD, do some ratings (delete some pictures) and maybe do some editing basic editing, and back from holiday import from the iPAD into Lightroom

jaapv Posted December 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 26, 2013 Normally an iPad has insufficient memory for such use, unless you shoot very few images. There are one or two apps to convert DNGs on an iPad, but they are very slow. I would advise you to get a MacBook Air 11" which is not much bigger than an iPad, but is capable enough to run Lightroom or PSE and takes an external disk. sandymc Posted December 26, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 26, 2013 There is nothing that will both display actual raw files, and pass information to LR. However, individual apps will do parts of what you want. PhotoSmith will do the ratings part of what you want, and pass those ratings to LR, but displays JPEG previews, not actual raws. PhotoRaw (disclaimer - my app) will process actual raw files, but does not integrate with LR. Sandy
