If I am unable to find one of these old monsters, I will try to find a used 800mm Leica apo modular lens. The website lists a telephonenumber as well, if you don't mail but call ask for their 2nd hand Leica specialist. It is rather large, a kind of mini B&H. gogopix Posted April 20, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 20, 2007 That is a pretty big difference, no? the 800mm modular is 5.6 telephoto while the telyt-S is sort of a real long lens (31" )so about as long as FL but is only 6.3 Â Don't see too many Telyt-S they sold for $20,000 today would be more like $50,000. Rumour was you got a free VW with it! :-) Â I have the 800mm modular and although $15k list you can likely get for closer to $10k used, and then get the 1x and 1.4x so you have 400, 560, and 800. Â Good luck. For wildlife is a fantastic set up and with the DR of the DMR really shines. Â There was a 800mm head for 5-6 a while ago on ebay Also try Kurland in NY. Very reputable.
