Nick De Marco Posted December 11, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know this has been mentioned many times before, and I have read various threads on it, but I still have not found the solution. I have a number of LTM lenses and a number of adapters, including the CV ones. None of them work with live view/evf on the M - 'lens not attached' message. I understand there are adapters which the M can read. Does anyone know where I can find one that works and is relatively inexpensive - preferably on ebay. I would appreciate a link. jip Posted December 11, 2013 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2013 You just need to have the one without the cutout, search the forum it's been asked before
Keith (M) Posted December 12, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2013 You just need to have the one without the cutout, search the forum it's been asked before In the image below, the left one will enable manual selection of a lens in the main menu whereas the right-hand one will not, due to the sensor not being covered. krooj Posted December 12, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 12, 2013 It's more than just live view that doesn't work: advanced metering also refuses to work with those LTM adapters. You can fake the sensor out with a simple elastic band around the barrel of the lens, letting part of the band slip into the gap where the sensor resides. Nick De Marco Posted December 13, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks for the replies so far, but once again if anyone has actually bought one that works and can share with me a link I would be grateful. I have read all the threads on the forum but can't find where to get one from. I have probably 12 LTM-M adapters, all different types, and not one of them works so I would be grateful of someone could just post a link to where I can buy one that works! Thanks

Thanks Hi Nick -- These Voigtlander brand LTM-M adapters are probably among the best made, and do work with digital M bodies: Adapters: LTM to M

farnz Posted December 13, 2013 Share #9 Posted December 13, 2013 Nick, Apologies if this is too simplistic but you do have Lens Detection set to Off don't you? Pete.
Dougg Posted December 14, 2013 Share #10 Posted December 14, 2013 ThanksYet strangely I have 3-4 of those and none of them work Indeed odd... I believe older Voigtlander branded adapters had the cutout too... Do yours look like the ones pictured, or do they have the cutout? Check Keith's illustration for a good comparison... If they look like the current Voigtlanders as in the pics at the Cameraquest site, and don't work on your camera... then something very strange is going on. anttipoi Posted December 14, 2013 Share #11 Posted December 14, 2013 Hi Nick -- These Voigtlander brand LTM-M adapters are probably among the best made, and do work with digital M bodies: Adapters: LTM to M I bought two of those to use with my old CV lenses (15 & 21) and they work just fine on my M 240. Adapters I got do not look like the ones on that page, but if you click on the "Order Here" link you'll find adapters called "Rayqual 28/90 6 bit Coded Leica Screw Mount Type II Leica Screw Mount Lens to Leica M Body Adapter". Those are the ones I have. Someone else may be able to suggest cheaper ones. Teemu
brill64 Posted December 14, 2013 Share #12 Posted December 14, 2013 the newer voigtlander ltm adapters do work with liveview. You will need to upgrade.
