echorec Posted April 18, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I just took a test roll with my newly acquired M6 with a v4 Summicron 35mm. The pictures were sharp but not as sharp as I thought they would be. I put the 35mm on the M5 to compare and it seems that the M6 puts the focus further away than the M5 (which has given me sharp pictures before). Is this something I can adjust myself or should I send the camera to Leica for service? Thanks.

luigi bertolotti Posted April 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 20, 2007 Probably a simple problem of RF tuning on the M6... i did it one recently on my M4: not necessary to be sent to factory, but avoid Do-it-Yourself: RF adjustment requires some special tool to be well done: the best way is to go to some good local repair shop (there are both "Leica Authorized" and not but as good... I do not know anything about situation in Sweden, of course...)
wizard Posted April 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 20, 2007 Gunnar, check whether the dual image in the rangefinder actually becomes one when focusing on a far away object. If that is the case, the M6's rangefinder should be ok. Andy
