I just purchased an Mr-4 meter. It appears to be NOS. Not a blemish anywhere. What is unusual is that it seems to be painted and not chromed. I know the black ones were the last made but didn't know any were painted. Does anyone know if they are rarer than the black chrome ones. The finish is quite dull. Does anyone know the approximate value in NOS condition? Looks nice on my old M3 which is pretty nice itself. If I weren't so committed to my M8's I could easily slip back into the film world. The old M3 does feel good in the hand.

Thanks for the replies. It is actually at least as good as the one shown and appears to be unused. Not sure the battery is good as it checks zero correctly by landing on the dot but the needle doesn't move far off the '0' mark on the left. Have ordered a C.R.I.S. adapter to use a modern battery then will see what goes on. Looks good on my old M3 and brings back memories of long ago use. Actually my best time photographically was probably spent with my 2 M6's. I had one of the 'Titanium' models that I really liked.Traded them to get in the SLR game and that was exiciting but eventually became far too heavy so I'm back to 2 M8's and again happy with them.
