andybarton Posted November 22, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Was just wasting 5 minutes between meetings in their shop this am and they mentioned a landscape and theatre workshop event that they are arranging in Kendal in January, centred around the S cameras. They also now offer sensor cleaning, available by arrangement, on a Friday in their store. Stephens Kendal Event News.pdf
Advertisement Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Stephens Premier Event: Kendal: Cumbria Jan 2014 . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted November 22, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2013 I saw a mention of the event from a tweet by Leica, but at the time the details on Stephens' web site were rather vague. I'm sort of tempted, but the model/car shoot doesn't interest me - the former smacks a bit too much of camera club events that I've been to in the past <grin>. lanetomlane Posted November 23, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2013 I visited David last Saturday to pick up an M and had been there two Saturdays' before. They mentioned the event on my first visit and I signed up on the second. They talked about using one of the University vans to make a trip into the South part of the Lakes. I think David said that eight people had signed up (not sure if that included me). I'm looking forward to it. Regards, Tom

lanetomlane Posted December 2, 2013 Share #7 Posted December 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) David has negotiated a special rate with one of the hotels in Kendal (unfortunately I can't remember which) and as I will be coming from the Cambridge area I'm going to drive up on Friday afternoon and so will stay Friday and Saturday nights. lanetomlane Posted January 13, 2014 Share #11 Posted January 13, 2014 Just to report that this was an excellent weekend. The university provided a great facility, there was loads of Leica equipment to play with, the presenters did a superb job and everyone was very friendly, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Hopefully Stephens will be arranging other such events and I will certainly be signing up. Regards, Tom
Falstaff Posted January 13, 2014 Share #12 Posted January 13, 2014 Unfortunately I couldn't make this. Would have been nice to have bumped into Brett again. At a previous Stephens gathering, the 10 mins tutorial I had from Brett was the equivalent of a year drifting around. Falstaff
bybrett Posted January 13, 2014 Share #13 Posted January 13, 2014 Well, we did a little bit of drifting around ourselves, but what with the weather and the scenery it would have been rude not to... thanks for the compliment!
