Was just wasting 5 minutes between meetings in their shop this am and they mentioned a landscape and theatre workshop event that they are arranging in Kendal in January, centred around the S cameras.

They also now offer sensor cleaning, available by arrangement, on a Friday in their store.

I saw a mention of the event from a tweet by Leica, but at the time the details on Stephens' web site were rather vague.

I'm sort of tempted, but the model/car shoot doesn't interest me - the former smacks a bit too much of camera club events that I've been to in the past <grin>.

I visited David last Saturday to pick up an M and had been there two Saturdays' before. They mentioned the event on my first visit and I signed up on the second. They talked about using one of the University vans to make a trip into the South part of the Lakes.

I think David said that eight people had signed up (not sure if that included me).

I'm looking forward to it.

David has negotiated a special rate with one of the hotels in Kendal (unfortunately I can't remember which) and as I will be coming from the Cambridge area I'm going to drive up on Friday afternoon and so will stay Friday and Saturday nights.

Just to report that this was an excellent weekend. The university provided a great facility, there was loads of Leica equipment to play with, the presenters did a superb job and everyone was very friendly, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Hopefully Stephens will be arranging other such events and I will certainly be signing up.

Regards, Tom

Well, we did a little bit of drifting around ourselves, but what with the weather and the scenery it would have been rude not to... thanks for the compliment!
