I know there's been a lot of discussion about the firmware, and it's improved colors and awb, but I wondered if you guys have any preference in general when you transfer the files to Lightroom? Do you still play with the colors a bit and make your PP starting point different that the default Lightroom setting i.e. all set to 0?

Thanks Chris.

I also wondered if you guys have any presets in Lightroom that you apply during the file import. As the camera has a higher dynamic range many claim the photos look flat. I agree to this, but I take this as an advantage and one can easily bring the photo to his own tast. However, this in not a way I would like this thread to go.

I wondere if you guys, who prefer Leica M9 look, have for example a preset that would bring M240 files to M9 look? I never had M9.

I joined Leica world with a M240, and I have a default preset with the contrast set to +5, and black to -14, and this is where I start from. Sometimes I reduce saturation in red and orange, but not always.

Anyhow, If people could send/share their presets and explain a bit in what scenarios they use it I'd be greatfull. This would surely be educational for me, and maybe some other members on this forum.

I might have put this post in wrong sub forum, though.

Thanks!!

I'd say let it have an M240 look. :) I don't use any import presets, but have noticed that in LR the import Auto Tone runs the blacks way down the scale from where it puts them on M8/M9 files. Otherwise the M pics would look flat, as there's so much more information recorded down there in the files.

I made an instructive mistake while getting familiar with my M a couple weeks ago... I made a shot of my cat - why not, he was there! ;) and somehow the ISO got set to 100/Pull, and I also made the mistake of a serious underexposure. But it was recovered in LR5.2 with a 5-stop lift! And the result looks pretty good.
