I enjoyed taking my X1 on lots of high risk activities where both hands free are needed until a shot is actually taken (such as sailboat racing, dirt biking or street shooting in NYC... 8-). For the camera size the bag is quite bulky when filled with spare battery etc. My guess is that a bag for the X Vario would be most awkward on the belt unless designed to be worn snout down. The best bet would be a shoulder holster design that would keep it close to the body with the lens out. However, the one I purchased for the M8 I used to have doesn't work very well with the XV. Problem is the lense is so long. Like an earlier commenter said, "snout down" will likely be the design that works best, but the the same quick-draw concept as the X2 belt case.  The search continues... Bag accommodates Leica XV and D-Lux5. Â The f5.6 is no longer made but the slightly smaller but taller Billingham Hadley Digital bag 8 5/8" Length 5 1/4" width 8 7/8" height would accommodate the XV.
