I could not get my 22228 to work with hand code probably due to a screw being in alignment with the all important # 3 position.

Yes, that screw is in the position of the # 3 code position but if you put extra black marker ink on the screw the R menu will come up. I have been doing it for many months now and I do always come up with the R menu. Lately when I viewed some of my photographs and put in the information button I noted that a M lens was listed even though I had used the R lens for the picture. So I went back to the manual choice of lens position and came up with the R menu. Then I twisted the 22228 adapter and low and behold the M menu of lens came up or the R menu depending on adapter position. Evidently there is enouth play with this adapter so either menu comes up depending on the position of the adapter on the camera. Obviously the 6 bit code reading on the M is very sensative to position of the 22228 adapter.

I don't think you can manually set R lenses?! not unless the mount is 6 bit coded as the 'adapter' so it know there is a R lens mounted, then it shows the list... I don't think the original Leica adapter can automatically select the correct R lens either... it only pulls up the R lens list instead of the M lens list...

JIP is your nova flex coded for R lenses to be received by the M240
