A Sfeir Posted October 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't know if this has been posted before. Luig'i's new line of products for the M are beautiful, ingenious, and extremely well made. The new M - Mate is of excellent construction and finish - very Leica like, much much better than the prototype picture posted on Leicatime site. With the specially designed case that allows access to the M-Mate door, you end up with a very practical solution to access SD card and battery. The M-Mate with the TY-50X Sirui Arca-Swiss Pro Quick Release Plate, one has access to the card and battery on a tripod without having to remove the bottom cover. Welcome, dear visitor! MarkP Posted October 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2013 Can you please post a picture of the back. The cutouts for my M9 case were not particularly well aligned.

Yes I'd like to see the back too I love Luigis work I have his case on my M6 but was slightly disappointed by the fit around the screen of my M240 case. A Sfeir Posted October 26, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted October 26, 2013 Can you please post a picture of the back. The cutouts for my M9 case were not particularly well aligned. Here is the back, the upper edge slightly covers the LV button. The right edge covers the LCD frame, but not the screen. In my experience, the quality of this new line looks much better than previous models, particularly the M-Mate. Welcome, dear visitor! Ecar Posted October 26, 2013 Share #5 Posted October 26, 2013 I also ended up getting a half-case from Luigi for my M240. It is indeed a much better and tighter fit than his M8/M9 version. A side question to the OP: what's on the top plate?

It is indeed a much better and tighter fit than his M8/M9 version.A side question to the OP: what's on the top plate? I waned to cover the large red sign! I ended up covering the whole top plate with carbon film.
Likaleica Posted October 26, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does it have a tripod socket? I don't see one.
A Sfeir Posted October 26, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted October 26, 2013 Does it have a tripod socket? I don't see one. Mine does not, but I believe Luiji has it as an option.
MarkP Posted October 26, 2013 Share #9 Posted October 26, 2013 Mine was ordered with the tripod socket. However I found that I needed to access the baseplate far more for the SD card and battery that I needed the tripod socket. I used a dremel, cut off the screw, and covered the hole with black felt. Much better...
