ddh Posted July 25, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 25, 2006 R-D1, $4000 Summilux, $3000 The look on that kid's face: PRICELESS ! P.S. I would prefer it a little darker and with his two feet but, nonetheless, nice one. P.P.S. Thanks for sharing.
semrich Posted July 26, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted July 26, 2006 Daniel - Thanks for your comments, you are a little high on the price of the R-D1 however it is a lot of fun to use and takes a lot of practice to get the hang of a rangefinder and manual focus. I agree with your assesment of the photo, this photo was taken on the way home from picking up the new 35 lens and getting used to the frame lines. I would liked to have gotten the feet but the look was still worth it. About it being light, all of the background was light and I was working on getting good contrast with Epson PhotoRaw . Maybe I worked it a little to much. Richard

semrich Posted July 26, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted July 26, 2006 Hi Stefen, Thanks for taking the time and providing an example of how much better this picture can look. Did you manage this in CS2 with levels, or dodging? Richard
ddh Posted July 26, 2006 Share #7 Posted July 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Aaaaaaaaaah, intercontinental communications ! It would seem my attempt at humour was misinterpreted. I was simply copying the format of an American Express advertising campain that airs in Canada. In no way did I mean to imply that you need $7000 worth of equipment to make a good image. I guess that was your point, Stefan. Richard, it was CAN$. And I guess I did not insist enough on the fact that I really, really like that photo. Thanks again.
