thfloegel Posted October 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just came back from a week-long stay in Barcelona, which I wanted to show to my new Leica X Vario (or the other way round). Instead of a lengthy description, I give you a link to the photos I took there: Flickr: madamasu's Photostream After the pictures which I took with the Vario, you'll also find lots of pictures taken with the X1 during a stay in South India last winter. Advertisement Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hi thfloegel, Take a look here First experiences with the X Vario. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted October 21, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2013 Thomas, your pictures are truly excellent and a credit both to your cameras and your personal skill. I still have my X1 and have not yet upgraded, so it is heartening to see that you run both cameras. (Or did you dispose of the X1?) I believe there is still a place in a travel bag for both or, in my case, an M9 plus X1.

No, I didn't dispose of the x1 and I'm not going to. I'll keep it, as it is extremely handy and has excellent image quality. What more can I ask for? Thomas

Ecaton Posted October 30, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) really good picturesthey wouldn't be improved with any other camera And neither would they be worse with many other cameras, even much cheaper ones. Nothing against the pics, they are fine, but do simply confirm that the XV can produce decent files. Which it should, with the Sony sensor and Leica zoom. Rosebud55 Posted October 31, 2013 Share #8 Posted October 31, 2013 I have had the x vario for a few weeks now and am just getting to grips with it and flickr. I have just uploaded some pics to flickr and here is my attempt to show them off. Guytou Posted October 31, 2013 Share #9 Posted October 31, 2013 That made 5 days that I bought X Vario and the sight EVF 2. After all the evil that I could read on this device,I am very astonished by his very good services. But I suspected it a little, from where this purchase… The adjustments are a true pleasure, except the pad back that it still sometimes happens to me to press inadvertently, but I improve. The quality of manufacturing is high level andthe first tests carried out show that returned photographs are excellents. I own also a small D-Lux 5 and a Digilux 2. That made one moment that I sought a more modern device beside D2 and I have hesitated lengthily between this X Vario and Fuji XE1 +zoom 18/55. I believe that I have just found my new D2 ! Finally, I think that I made a choice which corresponds to my needs and my waitings. You understand it, I am very satisfied and I leave you to go to occupy me this beautiful baby… Guy

thfloegel Posted March 8, 2014 Author Share #18 Posted March 8, 2014 I added quite a few pictures I took during a two-month stay in Taiwan and Tokyo. I only had the X Vario with me as the combination of Nikon D 700 and the Leica-R lenses is simply too heavy for me to lug around nowadays. I was very surprised what the lense of the X Vario is capable of, when it comes to colour-rendition, sharpness and resolution. The zoom-function is very practical, and the only thing I would like to have changed, is the opening aperture, which - of course - isn't possible. ISO 6400 is simply no alternative for an opening of f2 or so. Flickr: madamasu's Photostream
