M.Hilo Posted October 19, 2013 Share #1  Posted October 19, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone confirm the large difference in weight between the first and the second version of this lens?  Summicron-R 50/2  In Wiki:  1st. is 680 grams 2nd. is 290 grams  More than twice the weight for the 1.5cm shorter first version. Is that because of the extra element?  Thanks !

tobey bilek Posted October 20, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted October 20, 2013 I think someone`s scale needs adjusting. Â If memory serves correctly, there is only a slight difference. I have the second version of the V1 with satin chrome. There was a heavy bright chrome V1 that came first. Not bright like a chrome car bumper, but more like a new nickel coin. Â If really interested, I can weigh my satin. The collapsible is gone to my son. Send a PM.
