jrovner Posted October 7, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Until now, I'd been plagued by a problem with the shutter on my Leica M. Quite often, nothing would happen when I pressed the shutter. The problem was intermittent, and had nothing to do with the readiness of the camera's power. Then, tonight, I removed the Match Technical Beep that I had screwed into the shutter, and the problem disappeared! Apparently, at least in my case, the soft release that had worked well on my M9 causes problems on the M. I'm curious whether others have experienced this. erudolph Posted October 7, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 7, 2013 The M and MM shutter releases have threads different from that of the M9. So the Match Technical products made for the M9 don't thread properly into the new M. Match Technical has new products made for the Type 240 and the Monochrom. I use one of the new ones on the MM but the shutter and shutter release on the Type 240 are so smooth that I don't find the need for a soft release. Gary Clennan Posted October 7, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 7, 2013 I experienced the exact same thing which took me a while to figure out. I was using the button specifically designed for the M240 but still had issues...
