edmond_terakopian Posted October 2, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings Learned Leica Friends, I have recently got myself a lovely Leitz 50mm Summilux; it's the first version and from 1959. It came with it's original hood. Alas the hood is big and juts into the viewfinder framing quite a bit. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could fit a different hood, one with cutouts, onto it? Many Thanks, Edmond

TomB_tx Posted October 2, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 2, 2013 Yes - Leica hood 12586 is the later "vented" version (for the v2) that fits the v1 perfectly. I have one on my 1960 v1. KEH has a used one now.

aesop Posted October 2, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2013 ...aaaah, the 50/1.4 (v.1) - if you fit the vented hood and still do not like the result, Edmond, feel free to send me the lens. It is no good, anyway. Seriously, though, a super lens. Congratulations.
