M240 Random DNGs on Shutter Actuation

I used the search function along with reading most of the first page M240 problems and can't find any others bring up this odd behavior. I also read the manual to see if there was any possibility this might be an ordinary function, and can't see anything.

First off, my camera was sent to and received from Solms for the Lug repair and can say with all honesty, it never happened before that jaunt.

Here it goes. When shooting images, DNG only, and actuating the shutter with my Right Index Finger, rather than taking the shot, a random image will pop up from the folder of images that are on the SD card at that point in time. Not the image I shot just previous but something from the beginning of the day for instance. First it shows a black image with L1********.DNG, then the random image pops up. This is something that happens every 5 or 6 shots, not every 500 or so (which I would then call a "feature").

I notice every one complaining about the position of the Movie Button, which I have never accidentally provoked so that it is a non-issue for me. However, I have a large Thenar Eminence (fatty part of palm just below the thumb) that seems to inordinately rest on the position of the "Info" set of buttons and was wondering if that might have something to do with it. I also use the Leica or RRS grip.

Battery is always full and SD card is SanDisk Ultra 16 GB SDHC. I just bought a Lexar to see if it might be the card. But first wanted to make sure there was not something in a hidden Menu of my Settings that might be causing the problem. Always format the card in camera.

William,

After mine returned from the lug repair, the M240 would start to take movies all by itself, especially if you had a heavy lens mounted (R lens for example) and were holding the camera by the right hand side. It obviously had a loose connection inside. I asked for a replacement camera rather than a second major repair within a few months of purchase, in that I felt this could lead to long term reliability issues. Leica did not argue at all and as soon as the camera reached Solms (they arranged collection) and the fault was confirmed, a new camera (and an extra Myself book - whoopee!) was sent out to me. The second camera has proven to be more consistent than the first very early example. No lock ups, missed images etc.
