flyalf Posted October 2, 2013 Author Share #21 Â Posted October 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) ... So do I. And to make them slide off inadvertently, you need to put them on improperly or to bump into something badly. Â So if a large percentage claims that they do not click in place, put them on improperly, or tend to loose them from bumping into something badly or otherwise its a poor design, since I expect all equipment are designed to be used. Â Btw: Mine 2 caps for WATE and 35/1,4 have a very small hook-like part on the lower part. When pushed all the way down it is supposed to secure the cap in place so it do not slide off. This hook is an integral part of hood made of same plastic, not connected to any spring or locking mechanisms. From beginning there have never been any click when attaching this to lens. The cap will normally not slide off if I turn lens up-side down, but if I shake the lens a little it falls off, and it can be pushed off with only the slightest pressure. Â Are we in fact talking about same cap?

flyalf Posted November 20, 2013 Author Share #22 Â Posted November 20, 2013 Sh*t, just lost another cap. With my spending rate of one per month its going to cost me around 7200 Euro for my estimated life of lens (30 x 12 x 20). So, sell lens WO cap and buy an extra M or not ? algrove Posted November 20, 2013 Share #23 Â Posted November 20, 2013 Just take the damn cap off at home and be done with it. This way if you sell the lens you have a cap to go with it.
