hansmezger Posted September 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Leica community! I've just got my brand new M, and decided to put a shutter release button on it. However I have noticed that the shutter button does not feel very solid and has some side to side turn on the shutter itself . Is this phenomenon normal? Here is the video: M button - YouTube Thanks in Advace,

Here is the video: M button - YouTube Thanks in Advace, They have changed the thread and most old buttons now wobble and tend to unscrew ..... and fall off .... well my free LFI one has.... and is somewhere in Bolsover Castle........ There are a few makes that have been re-engineered and fit properly .... if you do a forum search on this issue you will find them...... I'm not sure that the actual shutter button itself connects mechanically with the camera insides any more - Leica said the camera is weather sealed and the actuators are electro-mechanical.... so it too can wobble all it likes with no real problem
01af Posted September 25, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Those soft-release buttons that screw into into the camera's shutter-release button's threads don't make any sense anyway. Don't use them.

hansmezger Posted September 26, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted September 26, 2013 Those soft-release buttons that screw into into the camera's shutter-release button's threads don't make any sense anyway. Don't use them. Well, it's a matter of preference. I love it.
jaques Posted September 27, 2013 Share #10 Posted September 27, 2013 I don't really get those buttons either.... what is the advantage- more decisive decisive moments? gentler release? Custom looks? My M240 switch was seemingly faulty- the camera is off for repair. It sucks waiting.
