Dikaiosune01 Posted September 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've recently been contemplating a second M body to my M3. I wanted something with 28mm frame lines and a capability to use flash when I do fool around with off camera flash. The m3 pc sync adapter was proving to be too unreliable. I was considering the MP which was quite expensive. The M6 which has the unusual dial, and the M4-P. I decided to pick up a M4-P because it was made in Canada. The flat matte finish seemed nice. I also think it is made of brass (rangefinder window is recessed). And overall, I'm really happy about it. So I would like to first thank everyone who constantly contributes to this forum and who educated and helped me make a really informed decision. My problem was something unexpected happened as I was running my first roll of film through it. The housing for the pc sync socket unscrewed itself. The whole housing and connector. Not quite sure what is happening, or happened. I am unable to secure it back into the body; it feels as if the threading has been stripped. I will take it back to the dealer next weekend to get this all sorted out. In the meantime I wanted to know of anyone else have had similar problems. (The hot shoe works, the pc sync is unreliable as cables can be easily nudged out of position, all other operational features appear to be functioning normally) Thank you. Welcome, dear visitor! 250swb Posted September 15, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2013 Eyeball the internal threaded post in relation to the hole in the body and if it is slightly off centre this may be the problem. Push the body shell in the appropriate direction to line it up and try again. When putting a camera back together it is often best to engage the sync sockets first for this very reason. But you will need the correct clamp/spanner to tighten the socket if you get it fitted, you can get these on Ebay. In fact undoing the other sync socket a bit may help line up the first.
