Krauthead Posted September 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have had a X1 for about 2 years. Yesterday I was opening the batttery compartment and then put the strap around my neck. The right strap lug on the camera fell off. I tried re-fitting it but it would not re-attach. Am I faced with sending it to Leica to have this fixed? It's a nuisance repair.
Advertisement Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Hi Krauthead, Take a look here X1 strap lug broke off. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mrware Posted September 4, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2013 That's been documented on this site before. You were lucky to get by with no damage. I think the other fellow had it fall on the rocks. If I recall correctly, Leica repaired it free of charge as it was an issue with the lug. Yes it probably has to take a trip to the mother ship. Update: Found the link for you. It's a long thread and some were confused that the camera dropped because the lug came off and thought it was the other way around. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-x1-forum/174551-leica-rocks.html
Krauthead Posted September 9, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted September 9, 2013 Thank you, kind sir. I was handling the camera at my house and the lug fell off. Luckily I was holding the camera in my hand, so it did not fall. I will take up this fault with Leica service in the US.
jaapv Posted September 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2013 This is luxury! You have M (240) strap lugs on your X1!
Krauthead Posted December 1, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted December 1, 2013 I received super duper service from Leica USA on this repair. They did it as an accommodation to a good Leica customer and returned the repair in less than 1 week. Bravo!
