buetts Posted August 31, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 31, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, i have two empty Frames side by Side on my Film and i remember exactly the pictures that should be there. This is a 63´ Leica M2 in very good shape with a Voigtländer Color-Skopar 2.5 I do not even own a lens-cap. The shutterspeed was as usual 1/125. I don´t change the shutterspeed too much. There was nothing wrong with the noise of the shutter. This is strange! Any ideas?

250swb Posted August 31, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2013 If you don't change the shutter speed are they so under exposed nothing registered on the film? Steve
buetts Posted August 31, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted August 31, 2013 Ah! I took the neg on my lightbox and took a closer look with my magnifying Glass. Some highlights are there but barely noticeable. The two frames are way way underexposed. Maybe it was my fault. I don´t think it is possible that the shutter is too fast. Anyway - thank you for your answer.
250swb Posted August 31, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 31, 2013 The other option is of course that you accidentally moved the aperture. Steve
buetts Posted August 31, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted August 31, 2013 Yes this is the wak spot of my Color-Scopar. But on one of the two Frames i remember that i took a reading with my Digisix and checked the settings. Anyway i think it was my fault somehow. A simple user-error. I konw M2 likes to take a picture of the inside of the camera bag from time to time but i am cool with that. But on my 20 rolls that i shot with my "new" M2 so far there is not a single frame underexposed like these two. So i was wondering.
250swb Posted September 1, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 1, 2013 Another way to get blank exposures is if the camera fires inside the camera bag. It has happened to me many times as I always wind the film on to be ready for the next shot. I don't mind the occasional wasted frame in that case, but it is baffling if it is happening to you in a sequence when you know for sure you wound on and set everything correctly. buetts Posted September 1, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted September 1, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes as i said the M2 likes to fires in the bag. I own a view Nikon F bodys and on of the things i love on my M2 is that there is no Lock button. Many times i have missed the shot because the nikon has to be unlocked. It would freak me out if the curtain of the M2 wold stay closed from time to time. But you make me take a closer look at the negs. There is no problem like that so I am reassured.
