Is a 12mm OVF needed with the M 240?

Can the 12mm Voigt be used well without the 12 OVF? Or do you find using the 12 OVF improves your pix?

I'm thinking in bright sun is only time where it would come in handy. Live view would take care of anything else. Or am I missing something?

Thanks

There is something to be said for setting the camera on a tripod and placing a spirit level in the flash shoe as a means of ensuring level horizons. You'll find out from the first picture what the limits are. If you have a double shoe adapter (I am still looking) you could have the optical viewfinder and the bubble level in position at the same time.:)

With the M (Typ 240), you don't need optical accessory viewfinders anymore. The EVF 2 (or the Olympus VF-2) replaces all of those, and does a much better job—perfect framing and no parallax at all, at any distance.

basically the EVF is a revolution as far as the super wides go on the M system camera. You could pretty much sell you clip of finders... you can even see the red edges as you compose :) and there is also the inbuilt 'horizon bubble'
