Leica Technician David Slater attending to a customer's binocular adjustment at the UK Birdfair 2013. There was a steady queue of Leica users requiring adjustments and minor repairs to 'scopes, binoculars, cameras and lenses. Stuck/jammed lens filters were common problems but easily remedied with the correct tool. David gave me a opinion regarding a coating problem on a Leica laser rangefinder ocular - it has to be sent to Solms for service. Whilst queueing I had some interesting chats with other Leica customer service technicians and tried a few Leica products eg the Monovid 8x20 monocular which focuses as close as a few centimetres ... and the Leica Duovid 10x and 15x binocular. Opposite the Leica Clinic twitchers were queueing to use demo binoculars and 'scopes. I was advised that all the binoculars and 'scopes on display would be offered for sale after Birdfair 2013 as ex demo items - presumably via Leica Mayfair and selected dealers.
