Alternative X Vario lens hood ?

Check the Rodenstock's female filter thread for damage; try screwing another 43mm filter filter into it; if the filters do not screw together there is something wrong with the UV filter's female thread.

rodenstock UV-filter: only from 49 mm to 82 mm. (in germany)

Hi, thanks. I took the filter off the camera and then attached the hood to the filter. Easy. Then put it all on the camera. I will use my circ pol filter when necessary, it's in the bag!

Used to be, a polariser was not recommended for wide angle shots because the polarisation varies too much across the scene -- especially the sky as clearly visible in the vignetted shot posted earlier in this thread.

 

In my experience even 35 EFOV is pushing it. Would generally only use a polariser with 50 and above, which should ease the demands on the lens hood.
