trs Posted April 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I felt like I have seen similar post before but I could not find it. So, I am posting it in new thread. I noticed this last weekened. After picture was taken, LCD displayed black and white zebra stripes instead of picture I just took. When I press play again, picture seemed to be fine. It continiously happened for almost all vertical shots that evening. I thought it was only happening for vertical. But, then next day, it happened for horizontal shots as well couple of times. Since then I have not seen, but I have not used the camera whole lot either. Camera: Post factory upgrade, firmware 1.92, Sandisk Ultra II 2GB. Battery life still two sticks left. My guess is it is bug in the firmware? Just sharing yet another M8 weirdness. -tanka
Advertisement Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Hi trs, Take a look here M8: Zebra stipes instead of picture in LCD. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cbretteville Posted April 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 9, 2007 It happens to me from time to time. Usually the first shot after a power-on/wakeup. On my M8 they're always read and black. Press [play] and the image appears. It is afaik a known bug. - C
BillBrittain Posted April 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 9, 2007 My experience is the same as Carl's. It seems to only be on the preview, the final image seems fine. It's very intermittent on both of my M8 bodies.
Nitnaros Posted April 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2007 Happens on my M8 too (model that shipped already with hardware fix; firmware 1.92). It happens sometimes when I scroll thru the menu, then disappears. Or during image preview. As others stated, final image has been fine so far. Quite convinced this is an issue in the firmware. Guest guy_mancuso Posted April 9, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 9, 2007 Yes known bug that has been reported
Westerwald-Leica Posted April 10, 2007 Share #6 Posted April 10, 2007 Customer service says it's a known bug in 1.10 (!). They were surprised to hear it shows up in firmware 1.092 as well. It classifies as harmless, though, and causes no damage to the image file. Bernd
