TonyField Posted August 6, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Almost three months ago I sent in three of my old lenses to adjust for back focus. I finally got an estimate for repair charge from Allendale. I considered this to be an extremely long time. Over a week ago, I sent in my M9 for to address strong sensor banding and a dead pixel column. I wonder how long this will take to repair? Does anyone have an idea about the service turnaround for Allendale ??? I would hate to have to buy another M-body just to have a functioning Leica. 349A Posted August 6, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2013 You're scaring me. I can't answer your question but I am waiting for a reply from them for service on a brand new Monochrom...
digitalfx Posted August 6, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2013 Have you tried calling them? If you log into your account, you will have all the contact info for your service rep.
taosantamonica Posted August 7, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2013 I wonder if they are more focused on warranty fixes. My experience with that has been good with good timeline communication via phone when I had questions.
TonyField Posted August 7, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted August 7, 2013 No I have not called them. I deal with The Camera Store in Calgary. They are a very good professional camera and Leica dealer - they handle the transportation to/from the service centre. The camera and lenses were mailed for service within 24 hours after I brought them in. It took three weeks of calling to Allendale before they finally replied with the estimate. Of course, I am now worried about the M9.
emmet3 Posted August 8, 2013 Share #6 Posted August 8, 2013 I'm sure this is of no help to you but my M9-P is always fixed within a week, I'm sure because I bring it in personally. Pretty sad that I say always, but I've been to Leica in NJ three times in 21 months.
349A Posted August 8, 2013 Share #7 Posted August 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was told 5-7 days on my week old MM that is back focusing. It arrived there today. I assume warranty gets priority over general repairs. Just a guess. Jonathan
digitalfx Posted August 8, 2013 Share #8 Posted August 8, 2013 No I have not called them. Id get on the phone. You'll get a lot more information from them than this forum. 3 weeks for an estimate is unacceptable. Generally when I ship something to NJ, I follow up immediately after tracking shows it arrived with a call. I usually get an estimate within 7 days.
