The Clam Posted August 6, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have experience with Luigi's M-Mate replacement baseplates that allow for battery and SD card changes without removing the entire baseplate? His website is showing one coming for the M. I would be interested in hearing experiences with this or the ones he made for the M9 and M8 in terms of build quality, fit and durability. Sacrificing weather sealing quality isn't a major concern because I will probably be using a half case and will not be exposing the camera to much rain or dampness. papimuzo Posted August 6, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2013 I used M-Mate 2 for M8 and M9, working perfectly, they never leave my cameras. Must say that quality improved for the M9 (doors adjustment and painting). Cann't say for the M...I'm waiting for the camera itself;).
The Clam Posted August 6, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted August 6, 2013 Thanks for the responses. Alternatively, I am thinking about getting the RRS base plate. Two entirely different purposes, I know, just weighing the pros and cons of each. I'm leaning toward the M Mate because I don't use a tripod very often and when I do, I can get the RRS B6 mounting plate which should suffice.
