rsh Posted August 2, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted August 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) It is rare that I ask for any opinion with regard to Cameras or Lenses, but I would like to hear some comments regarding your use of a screen protector or your reason for not using one. Â I know all the screen protector options available, so I do not need advice on which one. Â Thank you all in advance.

ayewing Posted August 4, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted August 4, 2013 Shortly after buying my Leica M9 I found a small scratch on the LCD screen caused I think by the camera rubbing against a button on my clothing. Having previously never encountered a similar problem with various Pentax DSLRs which seem to have pretty tough glass screens I realised how soft and easily damaged the M9 screens are. I have since used an ACMAXX protective screen which is made of tough polycarbonate and is attached by an adhesive thin frame so is not stuck to the surface of the screen like the film protectors. It has been in place now for two years with no problems. Â I did consider a glass protector but was concerned that if subject to impact the glass might shatter causing greater damage.
