erg Posted April 8, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've made some nice shootings in the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul recently and was surprized by the detailed available-light results in this huge and impressive building. No tripod was used. Â Enjoy and happy easter holidays.
Advertisement Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi erg, Take a look here Hagia Sophia with 15/4.5 Voigtlaender. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Artichoke Posted April 10, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 10, 2007 that these fine photographs did not receive more attention here, but that is the nature of these photography forums ...many see photos, but not enough folks make comments Hagia Sophia is one of the world's great treasures & I imagine a challenge to photograph well the combination of the 15 CV and the M8 (along with your very steady hands) did it justice hand holding at 1/4 to 1/8 second is no simple task & you pulled these off well ...the M8 delivers excellent details, even at ISO 640 & mates perfectly with an ultra WA ...the 15 CV continues to impress me, but not as much as your fine slow shutter speed hand holding technique I tip my hat
semrich Posted April 10, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 10, 2007 I regularly take photos there and it is always difficult lighting and you have managed it well especially with #1.

erg Posted April 10, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Hagia Sophia impressed me with it's diversitiy of religious (christian & islamic) symbols, harmonizing nicely side by side. Very figurative for our wishes concerning the international situation, IMHO. The awesome scaffold under the dome gives a pretty nice impression of the bigness this building has and I really enjoy the resolution of my M8/15CV combo. Attached is another shot of the scaffold.
