Digilux 1 - max SD memory card?

I have an opportunity to acquire a Digilux 1. I have two questions:

1) What is the maximum SD/MMC memory card the camera can handle, and

2) Does anyone know if the batteries are still available?

Dan,

 

Digilux 1 batteries are readily available online from Adorama and B&H, your local Leica dealer may stock them as well.

Model number is: BP-DC1. It fits both Digilux 1 & 2.

 

 

As for the SD maximum capacity, I believe that it is 2GB, but I will let someone who has actually tried, or knows, comment on this.

I own a Digilux 1 and I plan to get a 2GB card, but havn't yet.

Hi,

The D1 battery is common with the Digilux 2 & 3, as well as their Panasonic equivalents, so you should have no problem finding one.

I have Digilux1 & Digilux 2, Both can use 2 GB SD card.

For digilux 1, I suggest 1 GB it can be store 520 pic in that card.

And digilux 2, I suggest 2 GB it can be store about 4xx pic in that card too.

 

 

 

And more, for digilux 2 you will have 2 GB x 2 than one 4 GB, because when u take more picture it more possibility to picture error in one card. (Only in my experience)

I believe that I used my RiData 4gb card in my Digilux 1 when I was trying to find out what all it worked in. I originally bought it for the RD-1s, but that camera doesn't seem to read it at all. I believe that even a little Casio Exilim could use the 4gb card. Now, I use that card in the M8 with no problems so far.
