I have 2 M8's and they both have software 2.014. Serial numbers are 3106766 and 3199925. Both have approx 7000 exposures. When I view the picture taken immediately after the exposure the LCD shows one view and when I press Play and display the same exposure I get a different view - one with histogram one without. In neither case is all the information shown in the only manual I have displayed. Do I have some incorrect value set? And if I do what are they. One body ,the older one, has a new Voightlander 40mm f1.4 that is not coded. The newer body has a new Voigtlander 21mm f4 that is a screw mount with adapter that is coded for the 21mm with the markings as 011000 when viewed from rear at 12 o'clock. In neither case of display does the image show as dipicted in the book. Is this a normal set of circumstances. I have the auxilary viewfinder with the 21mm. What set of frame lines would most closely approximate the actual view displayed by the lense. The viewfinder is a 21/25. I wear glasses and can more easily use the auxillary viewfinders than the in camera viewfinder.

In the manual page 89 you see how to set up the histogram.

The 21mm is cropped to a 28mm, so an 28mm viewfinder is the correct one to use. Or about the whole viewfinder window of the M8...
