M 240 Apple Aperture / Lightroom Tips?

So I'm moving from the M9P to the M240 and wondering if anyone has any Apple Aperture or Lightroom tips? I primarily use Aperture - just what I've used over the years and I'm far more comfortable with the software - but at the same time I want to get the best out of my shots so if that means brushing up on my Lightroom skills then so be it.

I had a plug in for Aperture that did a really great job of punching up the color and balancing the levels (I think it's actually called an "effect" in Aperture).

Tried the same setting and it's a bit too garish with the M240 shots, so I was wondering if anyone has some "standards" they tend to use with the new camera?

Thanks!

Make a profile for your camera and lens using the free Adobe software and the Monaco color card (~$80). The custom profile works in Lightroom and Photoshop CS. You are now longer tied to profiles provided by Leica and by the raw converters. I have found a huge difference.

Assume you are talking RAW. I think the Aperture converter works very well with the M, so I would try it as it comes before you start trying to improve it with "custom" profiles. If the eventual Aperture profile works as well as the M9 profile does all should be fine. Enjoy the M, colours are great.

I have always wanted to do a profile and now is the time to do one for my M Type 240. I am encouraged when you say there is a huge difference.

Where can I find out how to do this--i.e., what are the steps, what is the process? Also, is an $80 Monaco color card the only way to go, or are there alternatives?

Thanks.
