harjtt Posted April 8, 2007 Share #1  Posted April 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I spotted a post over at dpreview regards the Leica D 25mm f1.4 and in one of the replies was a link to the first set of shots with an Oly E1 and DMC L1 with the new lens. Here's the links for both sets of shots:  Olympus E1+Leica D 25mm f1.4:  Flickr: tengsama's photos tagged with summilux  Panaleica DMCL1 + Leica D 25mm f1.4 (mainly all low-light shots without flash):  Zenfolio | Elitephoto9 | Panasonic L1 Leica 25 F1.4  I'm no expert but to my eyes looking at those shots it looks very good. I wonder if Sean has tested one with the D3 as I'm sure we'd like to hear his opinion of it as well ?  Cheers  Harj

blakley Posted April 8, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 8, 2007 Bokeh certainly looks good. Looks pretty sharp, too.
spylaw4 Posted April 8, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 8, 2007 I would certainly like to see a more representative selection of shots- but it looks promising.
dugby Posted April 9, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Interestingly all the L1 photos are at f3.5 to f5.....
dist Posted April 9, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Interestingly all the L1 photos are at f3.5 to f5..... Â That one struck me as quite odd, too. What's the friggin' point... I guess it's simply too soon to jump to conclusions. We'll have to wait and see. Meanwhile I'm saving up for an Oly 7-14 Cheers
spylaw4 Posted April 9, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Dieter - how do you find the teleconverter? Does the standard lens function fully?

Looks pretty sharp, too.Am I the only one who sees concentric rings within the COC´s? OTOH, from the largest and shortes diameters of the cat eye-shaped reflexes, one can assume that vignetting is not a major issue for this lens. I got back to VT last night and the D3 review is one of the projects that I'm working on. Right now I'm stalled because my main editing computer refuses to recognize a Seagate portable drive (which is holding my article drafts, example pictures, etc.) Anyone with expertise with XP is welcome to e-mail me.  I will be calling Leica soon and will ask for the 25/1.4  Cheers,  Sean

dist Posted April 9, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted April 9, 2007 Dieter - how do you find the teleconverter? Does the standard lens function fully? Â Memory leak, Brian? I posted about this a while ago (http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/17970-digilux-3-using-olympus-1-4x.html) and you actually participated in the discussion - I think pretty much all that can be said has been said in that thread. The converter works well with the kit lens. Cheers,

spylaw4 Posted April 12, 2007 Share #15  Posted April 12, 2007 It just went on sale in Japan last month, street price is around 91000 Yen, roughly 760 USD.  Which probably means that we in the UK will be ripped off with a direct £ to $ conversion = £760 or thereabouts (instead of around £470 incl. of VAT).
