LeicaBraz Posted July 11, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bought recently a Leica III model F, which from its serial number dates from 1933. Came with a Leitz Elmar f=5cm 1:3,5. The lens, however, has no serial number. So the question is whether lenses at that early stage, were manufactured without a serial number. Thanks for your reply. Advertisement Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Hi LeicaBraz, Take a look here Leica III. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted July 11, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2013 Obvious question, but you do know where to look for the serial number on that lens dont you? I think some have been rubbed down through heavy use from changing the aperture. You might like to look again with a magnifying glass!
LeicaBraz Posted July 11, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted July 11, 2013 Indeed, "discovered" it after posting my query. Needed quite a potent magnifying glass! Thanks.
