I don't think you can do that with the new "improved" M?:D

 

You can't? I assumed you could switch between the LED illuminated frame lines. Oh well, that's just stupid as it would only take a few lines of code in software to allow this functionality electronically.

Not with the M. They are still mechanical framelines, illuminated by LEDs rather than the ambient light.

Ok, if they are still mechanical then that's the reason. I assumed they were electronic all the way through since Leica also removed the frame line preview functionality of the M240.

If you can come to terms with the somewhat difficult 75 mm frame line, I´ve found 35 + 75 to be a great combo for most purposes. 90 is a bit too narrow, and the gap between 35 and 90 is too big, so 35 + 75 does it for me.

 

That said, I recently acquired a 50 Lux too, but that one is for other situations; I wouldn´t take all 3 on a normal shoot. For shooting my grandchildren (:eek:...:o) in low light, the 50 Lux is perfect, however, and the drawing (some say bokeh...) is wonderful.
