Guido Posted July 12, 2013 Share #21 Posted July 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Regarding the sharpness issue, higher megapixels demand more sharpening in my experience. I use a sharpening amount of 5-10 (1.0px radius, 50% detail) for M9 files in Lightroom. On the other hand, files from a P45+ (39 megapixel CCD sensor) require approx. 15-20 for the same impression of sharpness at 100% view. So I wouldn't be surprised if unsharpened M240 files appeared to be softer than those from the M9.

jaapv Posted July 12, 2013 Share #22 Posted July 12, 2013 That is more a function of the difference in magnification on your screen and on your print. The amount of sharpening needed for output ( as opposed to capture sharpening and creative sharpening) is basically a mathematical approach to creating edge artefacts. Note btw that your sharpening settings depend on your subject matter.
