Nick De Marco Posted July 5, 2013 Share #21 Posted July 5, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes of course, often. Like, when I'm using very wide lenses. Or indeed very long lenses. Or using R lenses. Or some of my nice Zeiss lenses. Or using macro. Or when composition must be perfect with no paralax error. Or when camera is on tripod. Or when shooting video. Apart form those times, I use the RF - and that's probably 90% of the time. But to have LV/EVF for the other crucial 10% is great
Advertisement Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Hi Nick De Marco, Take a look here Does anyone use Live View on their new M?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
knisely Posted July 5, 2013 Share #22 Posted July 5, 2013 I love it! Don't use it all the time, however, it allows me to focus the Noctilux in conditions that were almost impossible before. The 90 macro is more useable because focusing can be done from many more angles. EVF helps in bright sunlight. To OP, never is a long time.
k-hawinkler Posted July 5, 2013 Share #23 Posted July 5, 2013 Without LiveView I wouldn't be interested in getting an M as my M9 is doing just fine with RF.
StephenPatterson Posted July 6, 2013 Share #24 Posted July 6, 2013 Yes with the EVF, not with the rear LCD. It's a tool that is useful when needed.
Ecar Posted July 6, 2013 Share #25 Posted July 6, 2013 Yes with the EVF, not with the rear LCD. It's a tool that is useful when needed. Same here: as needed, EVF only, no LCD. Very useful for wides of course, but also for achieving critical focus with old lenses. I only wish a future FW upgrade improves the focus peaking feature, but that's a different story.
