liqdgld Posted June 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) This model released 2102. I bought in June 2012. Sent to Leica for under warranty repair. Manoleica Posted September 10, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2014 Send an email to the Top Leica Exec.. They should replace with a new unit. Take no krap - 1 proviso -> did you damage the camera? I had a new Passat, nothing but problems, the dealer said "it's Ok" One email to VW Germany & I had a brand new top of the line replacement within 4 weeks + a nice check '()' Regards, L.. bocaburger Posted September 10, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2014 This is one reason I have always bought the Panasonic version of Leica's compacts at typically half the price of Leica's branded versions. I recently bought a ZS40 (TZ60 I believe outside the US)...24-720mm (effective) optical zoom w/OIS, built-in EVF, manual focus w/peaking, RAW capture, WiFi upload to smartphones. Got a used one for $350. Mainly bought it to take to rock concerts where they search bags and turn away bigger cameras. I wonder now with the T if Leica has quietly ended its program of commissioning Panasonic to built Leica-branded compacts?
mjh Posted September 10, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 10, 2014 I wonder now with the T if Leica has quietly ended its program of commissioning Panasonic to built Leica-branded compacts? Obviously they have not as there are strong hints that the introduction of new V-Lux and D-Lux models is imminent. Having said that it should be possible to get a V-Lux 40 repaired, discontinued or not.
