Advertisement Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Hi Shade, Take a look here Luigi case and the M240 . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pedaes Posted July 12, 2013 Share #22 Posted July 12, 2013 Im heading to seoul next week and will be buying Arte di Mano, I cant be bothered emailing Luigi ad out if 10 emails he has only replied once. Although they look to be nicely made and a good fit, they appear to be open back only. The attached flap on the Luigi is really good. I got mine with no problems at all in 10 days and don't understand why some have so much difficulty.

Ginevra will confirm the total and thats it. I think (and I would do the same) he trashes anything that isn't a firm order....
StephenPatterson Posted July 13, 2013 Share #24 Posted July 13, 2013 For me the fact that Arte di Mano (and also Angelo Pelle?) are open back only is a deal killer. I want to cover and protect my screen, and also I like not having to look at anything on the back except the viewfinder window. Somehow it's just comforting and brings back that M2 feeling. My M8/M9 case is so soft from use that it now peals off in one second and goes back on nearly as fast, and the leather has darkened to a rich brown color, just as good Italian leather should. My only complaint about Luigi's case is that the red suede lining that I have been using can come off in high heat/high humidity, so for this case I ordered the tan lining. I hope that Ginevra can someday convince her father to get a credit card machine, or, miracle of miracles, online e-commerce. I think it puts many people off having to use paypal and add 4% in fees, or wire money to an account in Miami. However once you receive the case you realize it's worth all the effort. HeinzX Posted July 13, 2013 Share #25 Posted July 13, 2013 Pelle is not open. Backing is removable.

Stephen, could you please explain the difference regarding the lining ? You mention that the red lining tend to come off and therefore you ordered a tan lining ? What's the difference between both ? StephenPatterson Posted July 13, 2013 Share #27 Posted July 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stephen, could you please explain the difference regarding the lining ? You mention that the red lining tend to come off and therefore you ordered a tan lining ? What's the difference between both ?Rgds I believe both the red and tan linings are dyed suede, but I have not seen the tan yet so it might even be natural processed suede leather. On my M8/M9 case it is dyed red, as is the neck strap pad. In hot and humid conditions (China, Cambodia, Thailand) the red comes off on my light coloured shirts (making Mrs. P very unhappy). The red dye never came off on the camera, but it did color first the plastic cover on the baseplate, and after that wore and pealed away the label on the bottom. Not a big deal, but this time around I just figured I would try the tan and see if I could get better results. Probably not an issue in London or Rome, or if I wear a dark coloured shirt. egrossman Posted July 14, 2013 Share #30 Posted July 14, 2013 No, it's called "customer service". A simple auto-responder to let the customer know that you are out on holiday and won't respond to emails for a predetermined length of time would suffice. Erik It is called 'vacation'. cjirjahlke Posted July 15, 2013 Share #31 Posted July 15, 2013 Hello, I am not sure which half case to buy for my new M240. Pictures on websides from Angelo Pelle and from Luigi are both showing that use of new Thumbs up for M240 is not possible. And to add: Luigi case has no space for brightness indicator for the display. Am I wrong ? Any recommendation what to do now ? Would really appreciate any advice. StephenPatterson Posted July 16, 2013 Share #35 Posted July 16, 2013 Here is the Luigi Harmony case with the wooden grip. I definitely like this more than my last M8/M9 case which just had the soft "bump". Welcome, dear visitor! StephenPatterson Posted July 16, 2013 Share #37 Posted July 16, 2013 Hi Stephen, thank you - this looks great ! But one question open: is it possible also to use new M240 - Thumbs up with this case ? Have ordered one based on my good experience made with my M8. I believe from what others have told me that the answer is "Yes", however since I don't use a thumbs up please get confirmation from someone who has this setup before purchasing. Shade Posted July 16, 2013 Share #38 Posted July 16, 2013 Im not gonna comment much on Luigi, people have different experiences. I dont dither around and wanted to order 4 (yes four) cases for me and friends. Only got a reply once asking how if I wanted to use a thumbs up or not because I fail to mention it, and no more replies since then. I asked my friend to mail, even worse, not a single reply. Shade Posted July 16, 2013 Share #39 Posted July 16, 2013 It is called 'vacation'. Something highly valued in the EU, especially Italy, where they don't work 12 hours a day as they do in Seoul. No they do not work 12 hours a day nor I expect them to. I can accept waiting times and all. But a simple note saying "we have received your mail but we're too busy to cater you at the moment" is much better than not replying. I dont even mind an auto-reply, or a copy paste reply. Whatever you name it.
ymc226 Posted July 16, 2013 Author Share #40 Posted July 16, 2013 I ended up ordering 3 Arte di Mano cases for my M9-P, MM & M240. I do have the Luigi and the Classic Case with the attached back cover but found that I kept on pressing the button on the upper right through the cover. Hopefully, they will arrive soon.
