Had a nice day out today, drove an hour or so, visited a town we'd not been to, and had a great lunch.

A display center within the town, complete with carving that went to the roof.

X-Vario.

And on the way home we stopped off at a cave system, the roof over the entrance and cafe is spectacular.

And in keeping with the many fine floral shots, this from a 30 minute respite from westerly showers yesterday.

If I miss anything with the X-Vario, it is a tilt screen for this sort of shot, you need to be "underneath" the subject, looking up.

I thought you had the EVF-2, which can be tilted at 90° ? My memory must be playing tricks on me.

I do Michel, but haven't tended to use it of late.

For all my negative thoughts about "using the camera in tourist mode" as a spectacles wearer, it is actually simpler. The only time an EVF would be handy is bright sunlight.

2 photos of Northampton County animal shelter, hallway and cat room. Looks like a prison, especially in B/W but it's actually a nice clean place and a no kill shelter too. Last picture is one of our new kittens with wooden sheep. All taken with Leica X Vario. B/W conversion done in Lightroom.

Welcome to the forum, teb. Quite a challenging subject for first shots with the XV, but well shot and processed.

Casting a Shadow

Casting a shadow,

The new image floods its destination,

Without choice,

Controlled by time of day,

Weather, and objects in their path,

Or not.

Together they make a new,

Movable,

Fleeting,

Vision.

Which we mostly miss or ignore.
