How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

I was waiting yesterday for the Camera Shop to develop some film (from non-Leica rangefinder, incidentally), and had 30 minutes in an alcove at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts-IAIA here in Santa Fe.

Maxie's is a popular spot for morning coffee, but the Southwest feel, looking toward the sun just made the cold morning (30ºF) made the light more interesting.

I noticed some weird curved lines in the sky on my Matterhorn shots that do not appear in the originals.  Is this some kind of artifact from reducing the size?

Hi Amy,

These are artefacts resulting from JPEG compression to meet the 500K forum limit. Typical on wide areas of almost the same color. :(

And a closeup of some of the flowers on that tree.  Colors are really rendered quite nicely with the X Vario.  I love spring!  Everything comes back to life after a brown/grey winter.  Shots taken in Louisville, KY.
